This weekend must be successfully completed before the following badges can be attempted.

Camp Cook, Camper, Pioneer and Survival Skills.

The reasons are:- 

1. Safety.

2. The basic skills do not appear in the Scout Training programme.

3. To cover the basic skills required enabling a Scout to meet the requirements of their chosen badge course.

Note: Scouts who hold the Scout and or Pathfinder Award from the former progressive training scheme or have passed the The Outdoor Plus Challenge are not required to complete the Scouting Basic Course, but confirmation of this will be required i.e. Scout Record Book.

Costs

Scout courses cost £30 per weekend.  This price include all training, food and accommodation.
